Arkansas State Police announces trooper promotions

The Arkansas State Police announced two trooper promotions on Thursday during the regularly scheduled meeting of the Arkansas State Police Commission.

Two troopers were promoted to the rank of sergeant per the recommendations of state police director, Colonel Bill Bryant.

The first promotion went to special agent (corporal) Josh Heckel of Garland County. The 38-year-old is an 11-year-veteran of the department and will go on to assume supervisory duties within the Criminal Investigation Division, Company F, headquartered in Jonesboro.

The second promotion went to Corporal Rockey Rapert of Poinsett County. The 38-year-old is a 13-year-veteran of the department and will go on to assume post supervisory duties within the department’s Highway Patrol Division, Troop C, in Craighead and Poinsett Counties, also headquartered in Jonesboro.
